Building a better World with Renewable Energy

We believe in a better world where abundant renewable energy promotes healthier communities and creates shared prosperity.  Askon contributes to this vision by leveraging its long-term commitment, proven expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative approach.  We will continue to generate value for our employees, our shareholders, our partners and our host communities today to contribute to a more sustainable world for future generations.  We remain committed to responsible growth that balances people, our planet, and prosperity.  We believe in offering an engaging, inclusive and supportive work environment where each team member can thrive.

What is Renewable Energy?

Simply put, a renewable energy source is something that can generate electricity without being depleted.  We’re talking natural resources like sun, wind, water, biological matter and geothermal heat.  When compared to so-called “traditional” energy sources like fossil fuels (eg., petroleum, coal and natural gas) and crude oil-based petroleum products, renewables provide a sustainable, clean source of energy with zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

What’s all that mean?  In short, the renewable energy sources are the basis of clean, pollution-free electricity that can help reduce or mitigate the effects of climate change.  And when you choose to power your life with 100% renewable energy, your choice dramatically reduces your carbon footprint.

What is Clean Energy?

Clean energy is 100% pollution-free.  It’s produced using naturally replenished and virtually inexhaustible sources like the sun and wind.  Best of all, it can have a positive impact on the effects of climate change.  If using natural, renewable energy sources sounds like a better ay to get your electricity, then you probably have the same question we had: How can we support using clean energy sources and power our homes and businesses with 100% renewable electricity?

Solar Energy

Todays, with sustainable development and climate change becoming growing concerns, solar energy is increasingly being seen as a viable solution to our energy needs.  The sun is a highly stable and predictable resource, which makes solar technology correspondingly reliable and easy to use.  And because the sun’s energy is converted directly into electricity by a semiconductor, and requires no fuel or moving parts, it creates no pollution.  As a result, solar energy is one of the cleanest renewable forms of energy around.

What is Solar (PV)?

Photovoltaic (PV) solar modules absorb direct sunlight and an inverter converts it to be an electrical provider for your home or building.

The amount of electricity provided is measured in kilowatt-hours, or kWh.  The number of kWh generated is determined by the power rating of the system and the amount of sunlight that the system receives,  The geographic location of the system, orientation, and shading may affect the kWh production of the system, so proper design and installation is important for optimal performance.

PV modules contain no moving parts, generally last thirty years or more, and require minimal maintenance.

Solar Energy Solutions

Solar energy, a great option for both public and private organizations seeking to control energy costs and meet sustainability goals, is one of the most efficient and popular forms of renewable energy in the world today.  At a time when organizations like yours aim to build more robust, resilient, and secure energy infrastructure; solar power paired with batteries and energy storage can set you apart.  Askon continues to find creative and innovative ways of using solar and storage for on-site resiliency as well as for grid benefits when sold to grid operators.

Environmental Benefits of Solar Powered Solutions

Using solar panels for your power needs is a proven way to reduce the amount of electricity drawn from fossil fuels, such as natural gas and coal.  The clean renewable energy harnessed from the sun makes for a far better alternative for your property, which will in turn drastically cut the total amount of energy your utility company supplied to meet the energy needs of your property.

Compared to solar energy, coal contributes over 16 times the amount of CO2 emissions, while natural gas contributes over 7 times the amount of CO2 emissions relative to solar energy.

The clear leader is solar energy and its advantages are obvious when compared to fossil fuel use.
